What is Pediatric Functional Medicine?
Pediatric functional medicine is a type of healthcare that focuses on the root cause of health problems and uses a personalized approach to promote optimal health and well-being for children and families. Dr. Janna Hansen is a certified pediatric functional medicine practitioner who is dedicated to helping babies, children, and families achieve optimal health through a family-centered, whole-person approach. Dr. Hansen uses a comprehensive approach to evaluate the underlying factors that may contribute to health issues, such as genetics, environment, and lifestyle factors, and works to address these factors with personalized treatment plans. She incorporates a natural, holistic aproach, primarily using food-as-medicine, professional-grade supplements and gentle self-care. By focusing on preventive medicine and early interventions, pediatric functional medicine aims to promote lifelong health and wellness.

Many people with chronic illnesses and neurological disorders often excrete several abnormal organic acids in their urine. The cause of these high levels could include oral antibiotic use, high sugar diets, immune deficiencies, acquired infections, as well as genetic factors. This is especially important in children due to the prevalence of neurologic issues: autism, ADD/ADHD, technology addiction, distraction, obesity, sleep disturbances and chronic health problems.
